Brazil ▪ Itapara Lodge - Peacock Bass
Fish two lodges - 32-miles apart
250-miles north of Manaus, Brazil, Itapara Lodge has the best fishing for consistent numbers of really large peacock bass. Our groups consistently land 20 to 24-pounders here and large numbers over ten pounds. Good techniques include live bait, lures and flies. If you’d like to fish an hour or two after dinner, big unusual catfish species are also available.
Itapara Lodge is remote. It’s a five hour, fast boat ride to the nearest habitation. The newly remodeled lodge is air conditioned with satellite TV, internet access and open bar. Bedrooms include private bath and shower. Nice swimming pool. Great buffet meals and free laundry service. Stay at two lodges, each lodge half of the week. This allow us to fish 75-miles of river without long runs.
You’ll see an abundance of birds and wildlife here including jabiru storks, lots of macaws, parrots, ibis, tapier, monkeys, freshwater porpoise, giant otters, manatees and occasional jaguar.
Includes: Roundtrip air Manaus to lodge, airport reception, all internal transfers, lodging, meals, daily laundry service at lodge, guided fishing and fishing license. For hosted trips, Larry supplies all lures, flies and circle hooks.
