After a few down years, its again the number one lake in Mexico for ten-pound plus bass. Lake Baccarac was stocked in 1978 with Florida strain largemouth bass. The lake is 25 miles long and five miles wide and holds the Central American record with a 19.1 lb. bass. Bass in excess of 24 lbs have reportedly been caught by local fishermen. Most of their guides have 20-years experience on this lake. You’ll fish from 18’ Crestliners with 60 h.p. motors with front and rear trolling motors and depth finders. Fishing is best September to June.
Nestled among the Sierra Madre Mountains, the lakeside fishing lodge is a two and a half hour drive from Los Mochis. Many guests choose to access the lake by charter plane. The lodge is comfortable and elegant. Air conditioned rooms with lake view, private bathrooms and filtered water. Freshly made chips and salsa along with frosty cold margaritas are always on hand to tide you over until dinner. Dinners include steak, a variety of seafood or an elaborate Mexican meal.
