Jurassic Lake

Jurassic Lake is also known as Lake Strobel. Rainbows here average ten pounds, some are over twenty. The new Lodge has exclusive access to more than ten miles of coastline of the world-famous Jurassic Lake. Over 27,000 acres of crystal clear waters, the Lake's unique conditions are the perfect habitat for the best wild rainbow trout fishing in the world.
The huge north shore offers an excellent combination of sheltered bays, small islands, and large rocky areas scattered along miles of shoreline are where giant rainbow trout are plentiful. These waters (and the lake's eastern bank) are perhaps the least known of Strobel Lake.
The ten-mile exclusive area has some really beautiful waters. There are big bays, areas with islands, deep waters, sandy beaches. Some places are becoming known as big fish places. Serrana Bay, a larger bay, is fishable during any condition, as it is extremely protected and great fishing. The new lodge is an 80-minute drive from the parent lodge—Estancia Laguna Verde.
Guided Fishing Facts

Season: The Lodge is open for peak fishing from mid-October through April 30.
Travel Time: The Lodge is 300 yards from the Lake. The guides will drive you from the Lodge in Toyota Hilux 4WD trucks to the fishing areas and the one-hour drive to Barrancoso River.
Guides: English-speaking fly fishing guides. Three anglers per guide.
Equipment: Please bring your own equipment. In case of breakage, a limited amount of loaner gear is available. Flies are available for purchase at the Lodge. A detailed gear and tackle list is provided in our confirmation packet.
Fishing License: Your fishing license is not included in the package. fishing license ($60.00/week or $80.00/annual).
Barrancoso River: You'll spend one day fishing the Barrancoso, the only tributary of Jurassic Lake. This beautiful river runs through the neighboring (parent) property, Estancia Laguna Verde. This mountain freestone river is about 30 to 50 feet wide, with transparent waters and large boulders. Amazing rainbows lie in its pools, flats, and pocket waters. Barrancoso rainbows average 4-to 5-pounds with fish over 15-pounds.
A Typical Fishing Day
8:00 a.m., Enjoy breakfast then head out to fish.
Noon: Lunch varies from a barbecue to a picnic on the shoreline, depending on your location.
After lunch, enjoy some rest (siesta) or a cup of coffee or tea with freshly baked cookies. Your guide will drive you to your next fishing spot.
6:30 p.m., You’ll return to the Lodge.
7:30 p.m., Enjoy appetizers such as cold cuts, cheese, and wines.
8:00 p.m., Dinner is served. (Late dinners are typical for Argentina.) After dinner, coffee, tea, or a digestif (a post-dinner liquor) are served at the bar in the great room.

Lago Strobel Lodge

The Lodge is a comfortable ranch home "Estancia" in excellent condition. The spacious home accommodates six anglers in three double-occupancy bedrooms with private bathrooms. The Lodge also has a satellite TV, Wi-Fi, a drying room for waders, and a BBQ.
Communications: The Lodge doesn’t have a phone. Since free Wi-Fi is available, they recommend WhatsApp.

You'll gather and dine in the Lodge's new great room.
Meals: Delicious chef-prepared traditional Argentine dishes. Appetizers include an excellent selection of cheeses, cold cuts, and wines.
