This unique South Island fishery offers the challenge of pitting your skills against wild brown trout in clear waters with spectacular surroundings. Stalk brown trout in spring creeks, rivers and lakes. Eleven lakes and 30 streams and rivers are within an hour of the lodge. Three-pound browns are considered average with trophies up to 8-pounds or more.
The lodge stands in the midst of a forest at the edge of New Zealand's Southern Alps. Walking trails lead to the 100-foot Mitchells Waterfall, (behind the lodge) and around the lake's edge.
All guest rooms have en suite bathrooms, and each has a charming view. The furnishings have been crafted from the heart of native timbers into unique designs. Dining room meals use the best of New Zealand's meat and fish, classic sauces and fresh produce. The cuisine receives outstanding reviews from guests.
